Big things are made up of smaller things…
Rather than stepping back and observing something from afar or delving into the mysterious world of the micro scale, I enjoy focusing on the in-between. The often overlooked distance that includes details that are taken for granted or missed entirely. Whether it’s a single rose bloom of a much larger bush or the juxtaposition of lines on a classic vehicle rather than the entire car, these are the perspectives that get the best of my curiosity.
I often use photography as a means or a foundation for artistic expression. For me, living moments are fleeting and memories of these moments are dreamlike. Rendering photographs into artful impressionistic pieces allows me to closely mimic my own memories of the moment of capture.
As I age, learn, live, love, and forget, my interests and perspectives change. This is true for my photography also. Subjects and styles have changed through the years from family (who doesn’t want to ensure the lives of their children are recorded for all time?), to those things that interest a younger adult such as automobiles and architecture, and as I age to the beauty of nature around us in landscapes, flowers, and animals.
As you peruse my galleries it is my hope that you are stirred by my pure photography and photographic based artwork.
